Phases of the Moon

We learnt why the moon changes shape.

We learnt that the moon doesn't make its own light.
The moon revolves around earth in a fixed orbit.
The moon reflects the suns light and depending on where the moon is in its orbit it will look different from earth.

Here are some photos of us creating this.
We had one torch which was the sun, a foam ball which was the moon and our head was earth.
In a dark room we held the moon above the earth and slowly rotated so we could see how the sun reflects on the moon in different parts of its orbit.
